After a two-year COVID hiatus, the Gisborne Festival returns tonight from 4.30pm to 9.30pm at Gardiner Reserve.<\/p>\n

The Gisborne and District Lions Club coordinates the event and is expecting a large crowd this year.<\/p>\n

At Gardiner Reserve from 4.30pm there will be live music, free children’s activities, family entertainment, carnival rides, and market and food stalls.<\/p>\n

A range of free children’s activities will include face painting, henna tattoos, hair braiding and sparkles, miniature railway, junior sporting activities, jumping castle and the ‘snakeman’.<\/p>\n

The street parade begins at 5.30pm and includes a large range of community groups, floats, pipe band, stilt walker, Bendigo Chinese Lions, Santa and two major attractions-monster truck and monster dragon.<\/p>\n

Entry to the event is free.<\/p>\n

The Lions Club is appreciative of the local businesses that have supported the festival by being sponsors, which enables it to be an inclusive event for all families. The festival concludes with a fireworks display at 9.30pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
