Riddells Creek Cool Changes Enviro-Energy Expo will return on March 15, as the opening event for a week-long festival organised by Macedon Ranges Shire Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The free family friendly expo will bring together experts, innovators and community members to explore sustainable living solutions that benefit both the environment and household budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s expo will showcase practical and cost-effective ways for residents to reduce their environmental impact while saving money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keynote speakers include Climate Council councillor and expert on climate change science Professor Emeritus David Karoly, Green Planet Sport regenerative sport practitioner Annabel Sides and Australian 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Rhydian Cowley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be three expert panels discussing advocacy in a time of climate transition, taking action in our home and gardens, and providing insights and inspiration from and for our youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interactive displays will showcase the latest in affordable green technology; solutions for the collection, disposal and resource recovery from waste generated within our community; local and regional action groups; what\u2019s going on to help our waterways and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be electric vehicles on display with second hand EVs available for purchase, and a chance to test-ride an electric bike and go into a draw to win a $1000 voucher towards the price of a 99 Bikes eBike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Free consultations will be accessible with experts and experienced community members to answer questions about making a home thermally efficient, community group buy schemes for energy saving devices, going off-grid, climate positive outcomes in sport and gardening, engaging with the community and more.

Enjoy music by the Amethyst Jane Duo and refreshments, available for purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Vince Mulkerin, Riddells Creek Cool Changes Action Group leader and expo coordinator, said the expo was all about empowering the community with knowledge and tools to make environmentally conscious decisions that also benefited their financial wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We’re excited to build on last year’s momentum and showcase even more innovative solutions,” Dr Mulkerin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The expo will take place at the Riddells Creek Leisure Centre, Riddells Creek Recreation Reserve, on March 15, from 10am to 3pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a free event and is open to all members of the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
