PoetiCas’s monthly poetry gatherings in Castlemaine have become a cherished part of the community since 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Castlemaine Fringe, local identities will bring us their chosen poems for an afternoon of ‘Firecracker Poems’ at the Northern Arts Hotel this Saturday March 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who met Seamus Heaney in Ireland \u2013 and will she read one of his poems? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hear from the only person who has recited \u2018McArthur\u2019s Fart\u2019 at a reception on the 30th floor of the United Nations building in New York. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be inspired by a community member who won the Victorian Premier\u2019s literary award for poetry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be entertained by the woman who has a theatre named after her in Castlemaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lineup of community members is exceptional. In what promises to be an unforgettable experience, they will each share poems that have inspired them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The readers to feature will include Cate Kennedy, Harry Nankin, Siobh\u00e1n Robb, Joel Meadows, Phee Broadway, Dugald McLellan, Robyn Davidson, Keith McKenry, Maggie Fooke, Bernard Slattery, Sarah Tomilson, Sam Loy, Robyn Annear and Luca Sartori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entry is just $5 and all are welcome. You can buy a drink from the bar and join the team from PoetiCas in the The Coolroom at the Northern Arts Hotel, 359 Barker Street Castlemaine from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
