Already about 30 people attend monthly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Parky Pals\u2019 is a monthly get together for anyone with, or supporting someone with, Parkinson\u2019s disease. The gatherings allow people to talk with others, learn about the disease and interact socially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year the group invited speakers, held online information sessions through Fight Parkinson\u2019s Victoria, ran games days and provided a place where people could discuss their situations with others who understood the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parkinson\u2019s is a progressive, degenerative neurological condition that affects a person\u2019s control of their body and management requires many complex and different symptoms to be dealt with. The support group provides an important opportunity for people to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group meets at the Castlemaine Golf Club at Muckleford, on the third Friday of each month from 10.30am until noon. Participants enjoy a cuppa and then a short activity or information session. Please note the change of day for 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are welcome to just drop in or if you would like more information, email Jen at jmiko@castlemainehealth.org.au<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Parky Pals\u2019 has been supported by a community grant from Mount Alexander Shire Council, which has enabled them to purchase exercise equipment, build their library, and buy games and puzzles.
