In the final game of the home and away season, Gisborne-Kyneton United proved why they are on top of the ladder, and strong contenders for this years EDFL div 2 premiership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first quarter showed no complacency from the undefeated playing group, putting on an absolute masterclass kicking five goals one against the Lions, who had no answers for a well-polished GKU outfit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams was firing in the forward line in a season best performance, kicking five for the day, with Crooks playing selfless football, being crucial in GKU’s goal assists and contested play. Peterson showed her poise and skill set taking on the wing position and featuring in the bests. GKU’s midfield continued to impress with solid performances from Hateley, Macumber, Ainslie and Nicholson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seemed the team could do no wrong in their final match for the home and away season, beating Sunbury Lions by their biggest margin between the two sides this season and setting themselves up for a second chance heading into the final series, and claiming the title of minor premiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both coaches from United praised the teams’ efforts and celebrated an incredible partnership between the two clubs for the 2025 season which has brought the best out of community football in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

United will take on Taylors Lakes at 11.50am this Saturday at Walter Street Reserve, Ascot Vale, for EDFL Div 2 Qualifying Final. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
