Volunteers from Victoria’s State Emergency Service responded to a spate of disasters last week, and official numbers confirm there were about 1800 incidents state-wide between Monday and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a result of the ongoing bushfires, strong winds and damaging lightning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Loddon Mallee unit support team area, which includes Mount Alexander Shire, SES volunteers were called to 110 Requests For Assistance during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This included efforts to assist 81 fallen trees and 12 damaged buildings. The Castlemaine Unit was the second busiest unit from this area, with 22 RFAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SES volunteers in the Mid-West unit support team area, which includes Macedon Ranges Shire, responded to 164 RFAs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They assisted in removing 124 fallen trees and securing 13 damaged buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Woodend Unit was also the second busiest from their region last week and responded to 31 RFAs, while Gisborne’s unit responded to 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
