The recent Lancefield Truck Show drew a wide range of trucks of various ages and sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held over a full weekend, the show was a meeting point for truck enthusiasts across generations, and those being admitted free if they were aged under 16 encouraged family groups to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was live music, a Friday night barbecue for exhibitors, and a dinner on Saturday night. Don Turner drove from the Gold Coast in his 190 International, which he purchased from his father in 1983.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A tremendous workhorse, it has travelled more than 2.3 million miles since Don obtained it and applied sports paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made good use of the trip to Lancefield, going to Romsey to collect a semi-trailer to restore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some trucks were driven to Lancefield for more than six hours from the east coast and Gippsland, and for nine hours from South Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lancefield’s long-time truck and machinery enthusiast, Robert Green, was a co-ordinator for the truck show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He expressed thanks to all who had attended, and to those who worked behind the scenes to make the show a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ideas for future shows in Lancefield Park will be welcomed.
