Mount Alexander Shire Council is aiming to correct errors and anomalies as it undertakes an amendment to its planning scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The council late last week issued a statement confirming it was currently undertaking an amendment to Mount Alexander Planning Scheme seeking to correct errors and anomalies within the scheme associated with zoning, overlay mapping and ordinance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The majority of these errors and anomalies are associated with the Heritage Overlay,” the prepared statement stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The amendment also proposes changes to tidy up zoning and overlay controls along the Calder Freeway to ensure they are accurate and reflective of the current land use, road management and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council\u2019s manager of development services, Georgina Hope, said the most recent corrections amendment to the planning scheme was completed in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince the previous corrections amendment, more administrative errors and anomalies associated with both the planning scheme clauses and mapping have built up, or land conditions have altered,” Ms Hope said.

\u201cCouncil officers keep a record of these so that they can be reviewed and corrected regularly, to ensure the Mount Alexander Planning Scheme is accurate and up-to-date.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community members can view the amendment until March 4, and make a submission online via the council’s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Copies of the amendment are also available to view during business hours at the civic centre in Castlemaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
